Faith in Europe - Making Waves

Some of you will have already heard about a series, entitled Philos, which we plan to broadcast on a small local community radio station near our hometown and on the internet. An introduction to the project is available as an mp3 file from our website: in both English and Hungarian

The good news is that the first show went ahead on the eve of Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish New Year) and included an interview with a young rabbi who informed us about both the New Year festival and Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). A friend of mine edited the programme. He is an elder in a small Reformed church near us and has a genuine interest in Jewish people. When we first met to discuss the project, we decided to create a series about Jewish culture and Jewish-Christian relations as well as the Jewish roots of the Christian faith. Although we speak openly about our Christianity and our willingness to share our faith, the feedback has been very positive. We have also put together a website which provides downloads and feedback opportunities and on which we have posted additional information and links to Jewish and Christian sites. In addition, we hope to run a lively forum through which we can learn more about Jewish people, find new contacts, make friends and share our faith. If funding is available, our plan is to air a programme each month and to make short samples available in English. Thank you for all your prayers and support for this project.
